Not a sing blood

not a single drop of blood..

Introduction:

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit of then a virgin whose name is Mary.

With such belief, this article is intended to backup with scientific facts the biblical truth about the “virgin birth” of Jesus Christ through Mary.bible

Biblical Truth

We believe from the scriptures that the following statements are true.

- That, Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Hebrews 1:5; 4:14-15; Galatians 4:4; John 17:1,5,11; Luke 1:35; Matthew 3:17)

- That Jesus is God and came in the likeness of men (Philippians 2:5-8; Titus 2:13)

- That Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; Isaiah 7:14)

- That, Mary is the mother of Jesus (Acts 1:14; John 2:1-3)

- That, Jesus is the son of Mary (Luke 1:31)

Controversy

The above-mentioned statements are made clear by the verses cited. However, the controversy lies along this question:

“if Mary is the mother of Jesus and Jesus Himself is God, is Mary the mother of God?”

The following discussion lead us to the answer to this inquiry.

Myth

Especially amongst laymen, it is held that: “since the fetus is inside the mother’s womb, then, the mother’s blood also circulates through the fatal body.”

Scientific Facts

Some scientific facts are presented below.

What is blood?

Blood is a chemically complex and viscous fluid that circulates through the heart, arteries, veins, arterioles, and capillaries. Oxygenated blood flows from the heart through the oarta into the arteries and to the capillaries. There, oxygen nutrients and other substances pass into the cells of tissues and organs.

How is a baby conceived?ultra sound

Naturally, when the male sperm cell (spermatozoon) meets the female egg cell (ovum), fertilization takes place at once and the nuclei of these two cells fuse forming the single celled zygote. One half of the 46 chromosomes in the zygote nucleus have come from the sperm and one half from the ovum. Since chromosomes are composed of genes or inheritance determinants, the new being inherits one-half of its characteristics from its father and one-half from its mother. From a single cell, the zygote will begin to grow by process of self-division, feeding mainly on the food which it finds within itself. Up to the third month of pregnancy it is known as the embryo, thereafter as fetus until birth. In the third and fourth months, the fetus is suspended by a stalk from the inside of the uterus called allantois, which later forms the placenta. Interchange of gases, foods, and wastes between the fetal and maternal blood takes place in the placenta.

Although all the soluble elements such as proteins, fats, carbohydrates, salts, minerals and even antibodies pass freely from the mother to the child and the waste products of the child’s metabolism are passed back to the mother’s circulation, no actual mixing of the fatal blood and maternal blood occur normally since each flows in its own capillaries. From the time of conception to the time of birth of the infant, not one drop of blood ever passes from the mother to the child. The fetal blood and the maternal blood do not come into actual contact. They are separated from each other by the walls of the fetal blood vessels and the epithelial layers of the chorionic villi which are microscopic fingerlike projections that make up the placenta. Therefore, all the blood which is in that child is produced within the child itself. The mother contributes no blood at all. It is not necessary that a single drop of blood be given to the developing embryo in the womb of the mother.

What is a test tube baby?test tube baby corelation to virgin birth.

In-vitro fertilization (IVF) or laboratory fertilization or test tube fertilization involves fertilization of an egg outside the womb be artificial means. The baby formed by IVF method is called test tube baby.

What is surrogate motherhood? When a fertilized ovum is implanted into the uterus of another women who will carry to full term and give birth to the baby, this biomedical technique is known as surrogate motherhood. Surrogate means substitute, from the latin “surrogatus” or in place of another.

Correlation

Now, let us try to relate these scientific facts to the “virgin birth” of Jesus Christ by Mary.

Why Virgin Birth?the virgin birth, the doctrine of virgin birth, the sinless Christ, soteriology.

Through Mary, Jesus Christ entered into the stream of human life without the mediation of an earthly father, born not as a result of sexual intercourse but as the result of supernatural “overshadowing” of the Holy Spirit (Luke1:35).

The virgin birth attest the omnipotent grace and creative freedom of God. It achieves the requirement of the doctrine of salvation (soteriology) to establish God’s organic connection with mankind and His radical discontinuity with it.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) All men from Adam to this day, including you and me and Mary, are born with Adam’s sin (Romans 5:12). Mary herself acknowledge that she is a maidservant of the Lord and in need of a Savior in Jesus (Luke 1:46-48).

Jesus who was conceived in Mary was from the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:16, 18:25; Luke 1:31-35) It is not Mary’s ovum which is fertilized by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was conceived from the Holy Spirit so Jesus received no chromosomes, now genes form Mary. As mentioned earlier, inside the womb, the mother contributes no blood at all to the developing embryo. Hence no blood of Mary is in Jesus. God’s own blood is in Jesus. It is the same blood with whom God purchased His church through Jesus Christ (Acts 20:28; Romans 5:9). God prepared the body of Jesus whereby Jesus could be human according to the flesh and yet not have the blood of sinful humanity (Hebrews 10:5; John 4:2). Although Jesus received His body nourishment from a sinful race, He is still sinless because sinful blood was not in His body (II Corinthian 5:21; I John 3:5; I Peter 2:21-22). That was the problem solved by the virgin birth. Mary gave birth of Him but the Holy Spirit conceived of Him.

In modern technology, the mystery of the virgin birth is likened to a surrogate motherhood. Mary was chosen by God as a vessel to give birth to Jesus when He manifested Himself in the flesh – Jesus as man; but not as a mother of Jesus “being in the form of and equal with God” – Jesus as God (Philippians 2:5-8; I Timothy 3:16). Mary was a creation of God the creator. Even before Mary and her ancestors were born, God already existed because God is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 1:8,21:6,22:13). So it could not be that God came from a mother. Jesus co-existed with God the Father from the very beginning even before the creation of the world (John 1:1-3,14; 17:5). Mary is the mother of Jesus but Mary’s motherhood is confined strictly to the human existence of Jesus and goes no further.

Therefore, although Jesus Christ is truly God, Mary is not the mother of God (Titus 2:13)

We acknowledge Mary as blessed among women and who has found favor with God (Luke 1:28,30). We respect Mary for her obedience to be instrumental in fulfilling some of God’s greatest promises to bring forth a Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, who was to be the Savior of the World (Matthew 1:20-21; John 4:42).

Conclusion

Jesus Christ was a spiritual miracle whose entrance into the human race necessitated a physical miracle.

Faith in the miracle of the Virgin Birth still serves as a convenient touchstone of faith in the mystery of God en-fleshed.

An Invitation

Jesus says, “I am the way the truth and the life; no one goes to the Father except through ME” (John 14:6). Jesus claims Himself as the ONLY way. If you love Mary then obey her words as she say :whatsoever Jesus commands, you do it” (John 2:5). There is no such thing as mediatrix. Likewise, Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20).

If you believe in Jesus and you want to receive Him as your personal Lord and Savior, you may say the following prayer of faith:

“Dear Jesus, I am sorry for my sins – forgive me. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins and giving me eternal life. I invite you to come into my heart and be my personal Savior and Lord to rule my life. Mold me to become the person You want me to be, now and forever. Amen”.
